Types of memberships

Members

This category requires the same level of membership in the American Psychological Association.

Member - Must be a member of APA. Dues are $30 US per year and are billed by APA on their annual dues statement.

Associate member - Must be an associate member of APA. Otherwise, the same benefits as members. Dues are $30 US yearly.

Confidential Affiliates

Anyone with an interest in sexual orientation issues can join the Division as an affiliate or student-affiliate. No affiliation with the American Psychological Association or psychology is necessary.

Affiliate - Does not need to be a member of APA. Affiliates are billed by the Division. Same benefits as above. The affiliate membership is confidential. Dues are $30 US yearly.

Student-affiliate - Must be a full-time student. Dues are $10 US per year and billed by the Division. A Membership Directory is published each year. While student memberships are confidential, they may opt to participate in the directory by marking the appropriate box on the application.

Benefits of membership

Members receive the Division 44 newsletter 3 times per year as well as a Division 44 membership directory. Members also receive a significant discount on books from the Division 44/APA Books Series, "Contemporary Perspectives on Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual Psychology."
