National Multicultural Conference and Summit Committee
Division 44 Representative
Mission

2009 NMCS Planning Committee
The National Multicultural Conference and Summit is a collaborative effort among four APA divisions. Division 44 is one of the 4 host divisions and a moving force behind this event. The other three host divisions include 17 (Society of Counseling Psychology), 35 (Society for the Psychology of Women), and 45 (Society for the Psychological Study of Ethnic Minority Issues).
The conference is designed to bring together experts in the field of multiculturalism, and is also intended to help advance the field of psychology to be more inclusive of issues relevant to historically marginalized groups.
Recent Activities
Recent activities of the committee have included solicitation of names of possible keynote speakers and elders, and finalizing our contract with Sheraton New Orleans for the 2009 Summit.
